FOUR is a new contemporary classical work in 4 movements.

Composed for strings, bells, 2 x pianos and percussion it is inspired by and written using structural & engineering data from man-made forms in the Cornish landscape.

Each movement aims to conjure a sense of dimension, form & atmosphere. During performance these spaces are re-imagined in a different, liminal space. Performances use sound design and multi-level amplification to explore how audiences listen to music in a live environment.

FOUR was installed and performed during a Residency at AMATA (Falmouth University) in July 2023.

Its final movement, ENGINE, was installed at Michell’s Engine House throughout September 2024 as part of Heritage Open Days
